Certified for 8 Hours in BCE category (trainee CEU), this course continues the process of familiarizing the student with the National Electrical Code. The 2023 NEC version becomes effective in April 2024. This course covers articles 240 through 250. Instruction and discussion for 6 hours, slides that help with the discussion, and a 20-question exam at the end. This course will cover the overcurrent protection devices (breakers and fuses), and grounding and bonding (such as the equipment grounding conductor), using a guided slideshow with explanations on interpretations of the code articles, insight into references between code articles, and diagrams and pictures. Students will be asked to highlight their copy of the NEC for the exam at the end of the course and for future reference such as taking the official exam from Washington State. For students learning the Code for the first time, for those preparing for the exam, and for those that are continuing their progress toward certification. This course is best taken before 2023 Introduction to NEC Articles 300 – 398.
