This course prepares students to take the Seattle Refrigeration Operator's exam for licensing. The Seattle Refrigeration Operator License is a requirement of the City of Seattle, for Operating Engineers who maintain and operate refrigeration equipment. (Seattle Municipal Code 6.410)
This course focuses on preparing students to take and pass the Refrigeration Operator Class A (refrigerants including sulfur dioxide, methyl chloride, all freons). It does NOT cover questions or material required for ammonia refrigeration or carbon dioxide, considered Class B. The combination of Class A and Class B is a Class C license.
